About Our School

The staff, children and whole school community at St. Andrew's
School aim to promote:
Standards
Achievement
Nurturing
Diversity
Respect
Excellence
Well-being
Safety
St. Andrew’s School has a non-selective
academic entry. Priority for places is given to pupils who already
have brothers or sisters at the School and who attend the St.
Andrew’s Pre-School.
The School has a very happy, family atmosphere
that can be attributed to the sensitive and sensible way in which
the staff teach and care for the children. Their enthusiasm for the
children to have high aspirations and to be successful creates a
stimulating environment that is conducive to learning. The School
is proud of its traditional style of teaching and learning with an
emphasis on class teaching and the development of thinking
skills.
The discipline in the School is based on
mutual respect amongst pupils, peers and teachers. The children
have clearly defined parameters of behaviour and are taught to show
respect to all with whom they come into contact.
The School recognises that its success is
based on a three-way partnership including the parents, the School
and each child all working together to bring out the best in each
individual child.
The School’s aim is to develop well-rounded,
enthusiastic learners who will make a strong contribution to their
senior schools both as good citizens and as pupils who are prepared
to work hard in order to achieve success. The measure of the
curriculum at St. Andrew’s should be that which the children take
with them and continue to develop throughout their school careers
and future lives.
