Our vibrant Reception department is a lively, welcoming place where young children thrive and grow.
Each child is cared for by a dedicated class teacher and a supportive teaching assistant, with specialist lessons in subjects like Physical Education, French, and Music. We use a mix of whole-class activities and small group sessions to ensure every child feels supported and excited about learning.
In Reception, we focus on getting to know your child—discovering their unique strengths and tailoring learning to suit their individual needs. Playful, hands-on activities are at the heart of what we do because we believe children learn best when they’re having fun.
Our weekly Forest School sessions are a highlight for many children, offering them the chance to explore, play, and learn in a natural woodland environment—developing independence, creativity, and a love for nature.
Your child will have the freedom to move between three spacious classrooms throughout the day, exploring areas like our role-play corner, cozy library, and a large outdoor space filled with climbing frames, gardening activities, and an abundance of toys to spark their imagination.
The school year is packed with exciting moments for children and families, including school trips, special visitors, Christmas plays, End of Term services, the Easter Bonnet parade, and our much-loved Sports Day.
