On Friday 6th May, 16 School Councillors went to London on the train to visit the Houses of Parliament. We were taken on an exciting tour of the Palace of Westminster, including the House of Lords, House of Commons and Central Lobby. After the tour we participated in a workshop about how we can get our voices heard at different levels of government. We really enjoyed taking on different roles during the workshop and participating in the interactive quiz! We were then met by an assistant who works for Kelly Tolhurst, our local MP. He answered our questions about life in Parliament, what it is like to work in politics and the issues Kelly and her team are improving in Rochester and Strood. It was a fascinating trip and we had a super time!
