On Saturday 24th September, pupils from St Andrew’s took part in the LCS Schools Cup Tag Rugby 7’s competition along with Bryony. This was the first time the Tag Rugby 7’s format had been used in the LCS Schools Cup, introducing uncontested scums, conversions and kicking into the more traditional form of Tag Rugby.
The Year 4 team grew in confidence as the morning went on; demonstrating good team play throughout the game. Despite this, Bryony won the game 30 – 10 due to some outstanding attacking play from the Bryony team. Rowan Usher was awarded the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award for his excellent performance.
The Year 6 team started confidently, scoring several tries early on without converting their kicks. St Andrew’s looked to attack at every opportunity and as a result scored some amazing team tries. The final score was 30 – 22 to St Andrew’s, a fantastic result!
