Following the success of their ‘Golden Girls’ at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Holcombe Hockey Club is running its own ‘Holcombe Golden Post Box Schools Roadshow’.

Standing at one metre high, Holcombe's Golden Post Box, made and donated by Terry Malone, has been traveling around local Primary Schools near to the hockey club.

Through English lessons, Year 3 pupils have been writing to Maddie Hinch, Shona McCallin, Sam Quek and Nicola White about their Rio 2016 Olympic memories, how they have been inspired by the ‘Golden Girls’ and what their hopes and ambitions are within sport.

The children sealed their letters in golden envelopes and posted them in the Golden Post Box for the ‘Golden Girls’ to read at the end of the Roadshow.
